Privacy Policy for the Nebraska Early Childhood Professional Record System

Why is the Nebraska Early Childhood Professional Record System collecting information?
The record system is a new tool for the early care and education system to collect information about people working in the care and education of children. The information will be used to:
  • Bring professional recognition to all those who work in care and education of children
  • Assist individuals and program directors in professional development planning
  • Assist individuals and program directors in documenting the credentials required by law and by accrediting organizations
  • Inform policymakers and state planners about the Nebraska early care and education workforce in order to track progress in meeting state workforce goals
  • To help make the case that early care and education need to be paid wages that reflect their education, training and experience.
  • Help programs identify quality indicators that they meet and areas where they can work with the support of others to improve their quality.
Your participation in the record system will benefit you personally as a record of your education, training and employment. This record can be used for career advancement, program reporting, accreditation, and applying for scholarships without having to report the same information multiple times. Your participation will also benefit the early childhood field as a whole, as we help our teachers, directors, and administrators improve the quality of care and education for young children.
